Summer reading

As one whose educational training and teaching routine revolve around visits to the Ancient World and "dead languages" in a reactive approach which creates teachable scenarios, I find it somewhat daunting to be confronted by a challenge which calls for a more proactive formula with a view to forecasting and predicting potential future educational scenarios.  We are served with a call for a more fully integrated curriculum in the hopes that it will more successfully address the various challenges which skilled and educated individuals will face in the future. I agree with my colleagues who have been quick to observe that we do already address this challenge to a fairly healthy degree.  I am curious to see how the framework for the collective approach will identify itself.
